Your training and any practical experience will be compared with the Swedish requirements for doctors. You must also be able to prove that you have a sufficient working knowledge of the Swedish language. Licences are issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare.

Knowledge of the Swedish language
To be employed as a doctor, you will need a knowledge of Swedish equivalent to level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Knowledge of Swedish legislation
You must also be very familiar with healthcare legislation in Sweden.
